Improvements to the Universal Credit System

The Department for Work and Pensions have updated their processes so that claimants will receive consistent benefit payments.

Do you claim Universal Credit? Have you been caught out by having your benefits reduced as they say you worked twice in one month?

There has been an ongoing problem with employees getting paid early due to a Bank Holiday or Christmas and DWP record that the employee has been paid twice in one month which reduced their benefits.

DWP have now given their staff the ability to move the second payment across to the next assessment period in their system, this will mean that claimants will receive their normal benefits rather than having these reduced.

Cooper Weston recommend that you date the FPS the normal pay day rather than the date they are paid.
